U-Mary's main campus is located on over 200 scenic acres overlooking the Missouri River, about six miles south of Bismarck, ND, one of the safest cities in the United States and a Sports Illustrated 50th Anniversary Sports Town. It includes the Casey Center for Nursing Education; the Harold J. Miller Science Center; Arno Gustin Hall; University Hall; the Clairmont Center for Performing Arts; the Welder Library; Hillside, Greg Butler, Boniface, Deichert, Boyle, and North Campus Residence halls; student apartments; the Leach Center for Student Life; the McDowell Activity Center; the Harold Schafer Leadership Center; and the Benedictine Center for Servant Leadership. All academic facilities and a number of residence rooms are accessible to students with physical challenges.
Five of the university's buildings were designed by renowned architect Marcel Breuer (1902-1981). As the university has continued to grow, so have its facilities. A new 18,400-square-foot home for its human performance science programs, the Richard A. Tschider Center for Health Science opened its doors in fall 2006. And ground was broken for the Gary Tharaldson School of Business in April 2007, with completion of the new 29,000-square-foot flagship facility anticipated in August 2008.
The university also maintains an in-town classroom facility, the Butler Center for Lifelong Learning, in Bismarck, as well as adult learning centers in Fargo, ND, and Billings, MT.
