MBA Program Information

General Admissions Requirements

Individuals holding a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and who have an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale overall, or 2.75 during the last two years of the undergraduate degree, or 3.00 in a major field, will be admitted to begin graduate study.

Foundation Courses

One of the greatest challenges faced by adult students seeking an MBA is the program prerequisites, often as high as six courses. The University of Mary has addressed this concern by including two foundation or “leveling” courses in the 39-hour MBA program of study. The foundation courses cover concepts and skills commonly included in an undergraduate program in business administration, but with graduate course rigor. The foundation courses replace prerequisites to the program and graduate testing; i.e., GMAT, GRE.

Qualifying Conference

To be admitted to the Master of Business Administration program, all students must apply for a qualifying conference. After successful completion of a minimum of six graduate credit hours (two courses), a student is considered for advancement to master’s candidacy according to the following criteria:

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 for graduate course work
  • Acceptable personal, academic, and professional conduct
  • An approved program of study

At the qualifying conference, the student meets with a graduate committee who may recommend full admission or provisional admission or may deny admission.
