Master's in Management
The Master’s in Management Program provides knowledge of the complex factors that affect every organization as well as knowledge of day-to-day operations. The curriculum is based on a solid foundation of effective communication and critical thinking, and emphasizes knowledge and skills in the technical, social, cultural, moral, political, legal and economic aspects of business. Classes are taught in seminar style, allowing for participation, discussion and immediate application in the workplace in an accelerated format.
Outcomes
To educate effective business leaders, we will provide a learning environment that allows the students to:
- Demonstrate critical thinking in evaluating, modifying and implementing organizational goals.
- Develop leadership skills.
- Integrate the knowledge and skills they have acquired to achieve organizational and personal goals.
- Communicate effectively inside and outside of the organizational environment.
- Analyze and use information and technology effectively.
- Build a practical orientation toward business.
- Demonstrate in practice an ethical philosophy of business based on the Benedictine values.
Admission
Individuals holding a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and who have an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 overall, or 2.75 during the last 2 years of the undergraduate degree, or 3.00 in a major field will be admitted to begin graduate study.
To be admitted to the Master’s in Management program, all students must apply for a qualifying conference upon the completion of six (6) semester hours of graduate-level courses. At the qualifying conference, the student meets with his or her graduate committee. The graduate committee may recommend full admission or provisional admission, or may deny admission.
Applications are evaluated according to the following criteria for admission:
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 for graduate course work
- Acceptable personal, academic and professional conduct
