The University of Mary Graduate Program in Education helps educators enrich their professional knowledge, enhance their professional skills and achieve higher levels of competence. This enhanced professionalism enables graduates to meet the needs of students and to assume leadership roles in the field of education, and focuses on the development of each of the following competencies. Master's degree candidates assess their progress in each competence area throughout the program and through completion of the thesis or portfolio:

Graduates engage in the art and science of their profession with leadership and a commitment to excellence.

Environmental Contexts

Graduates differentiate and evaluate relevant environments in contemporary society, and influence the function of individuals and organizations.

Scholarship
Graduates access, analyze, evaluate, and process information from a variety of sources to generate new ideas, to influence change, and to disseminate new knowledge.

Graduates clarify and defend personal and social values, and act as leaders in recognizing and respecting multiple perspectives, cultural diversity and the complexity of human relations.
