National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

Graduates of the University of Mary Occupational Therapy Program are able to sit for the national examination for occupational therapists administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR).
In the past three calendar years (2005-2007):
- 41 students have graduated from the University of Mary Occupational Therapy Program
- 41 graduates of the U-Mary OT Program qualified to participate in the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Examination.
- 41 grduates took the NBCOTcertification exam
- 36 of the 41 (87.8 percent) passed the NBCOT certification exam as first-time test takers.
- 100 percent of the 41 passed the NBCOT certification exam including repeat test takers.
