Application F.A.Q.s

The following are frequently asked questions about application to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Mary:

When do I apply to the program?
  • Application packets can be requested by letter or e-mail, and are mailed the first business day in January. The deadline for applications is March 1st, 2007 and interviews are usually scheduled about a month after the application deadline.
What if I have not completed all of my prerequisite courses by the time I apply?
  • Applicants must have completed five of the eight core courses by the time they apply to the program. The remaining courses can be in progress or to be completed during the summer. All core courses must be completed before entering the physical therapy education program in August.

Does the University of Mary PT program have a wait list?

  • Yes. If there are more acceptable applicants than the number of openings, there will be a wait list.

I have just recently decided that I am interested in physical therapy, but it is past the deadline for applications. Can I still apply to the University of Mary?

  • You may call or email the Department of Physical Therapy to see if the rolling admissions has come into effect.

I have completed all of my prerequisites at a community college.  Can I still apply

  • The University of Mary will accept only 64 credits from two-year community colleges. Applicants also need to have 8 credits in upper level (300/400) courses, which are usually not provided at two-year colleges.
