CFE Track

The CFE track is designed to prepare students for an exciting career in preventing and detecting fraud. With fraud estimated to be over a $600-billion problem in the United States alone, this is one of the hottest job markets today. CFE's work for private businesses, insurance companies, credit card companies, state and federal government, and public accounting firms.

The University of Mary was one of the first schools of higher education in this country to offer a sequence of courses to help students prepare to become a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). In the fraud examination course, students participate in a real investigation each year, gaining practical experience and helping catch real perpetrators of fraud. All three of the courses in the fraud track elective are taught by a CFE.

The curriculum for the undergraduate CFE track is laid out below. In addition to the courses listed, every student at the University of Mary completes 56 hours of liberal arts education. This involves an additional nine courses to be taken during the semesters listed or during May or summer terms.

An accounting advisor will help you determine if this is the right field for you and what additional courses may be beneficial.
