MGT 473 Human Resource Management
Human resources have become increasingly viewed as critical to organizational success. Organizational leadership recognizes that it is the people, or human resources, in an organization who provide competitive advantage. This focus makes the human resource function an essential part of the organization’s strategic focus. The human resource management role as a strategic business contributor requires attention be given to enhancing organizational performance, expanding human capital, and delivering cost-effective compliance systems.

MGT 375 Hotel Operations and Facility Management
Understanding hotel operations and facility management strategies have become critical in maintaining a successful lodging facility. Each department within an operation must recognize its function and critical tasks within the facility as well as overall strategy of the entire operation. This course has been designed to provide an overview of all hotel operations and review specific knowledge of key hotel departments, with a focus on position skills and managing the interrelationships of those departments.

MGT 477 Hospitality, Tourism, and Sales Promotion
This course introduces marketing concepts and strategies, which can be utilized by all hospitality and tourism businesses. Marketing within the hospitality and tourism industry is as encompassing as in other industries. As the industry has evolved so have the marketing principles applications. This course discusses sales, promotions, and revenue management theories and tasks through understanding the management strategies employed when marketing a business.

MGT 471 Hospitality Law
The hospitality law course will identify and analyze legal issues that face leaders and managers in the hospitality environment. The course will focus on skills for critical thinking and ethical decision-making. It is intended for managers to understand the law as it relates to the hospitality industry. Above all, this course should give the all students the opportunity to profit from the experience of others through the careful study of real lawsuits that resulted from mistakes of managers working in the hospitality field.
