One of North Dakota's most colorful and energetic musical events returns on Nov. 3 and 4, 2006. PANORAMA VII when Weekend in Paradise brings the 19-member University of Mary Steel Drum Band together with two nationally recognized recording and solo artists for a weekend of foot-tapping calypso and high-energy island music.
Joining the UMSDB for this event will be the stellar percussion virtuoso KALANI. Kalani has performed and recorded with numerous artists and is featured on recordings for Disney, Warner Brothers, Tri-Star pictures and Paramount Studios. He is the featured percussionist on the "Yanni - Live at the Acropolis" video and has performed throughout the world.

Steel pan artist Kyle Dunleavy has studied in Trinidad with many of the best steel pan orchestras and artists in the world. Kyle will give a 50-minute presentation titled "Everything You Wanted To Know About Steel Drums" on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. in Heskett Hall in the Clairmont Center for Performing Arts on the University of Mary campus.
This very special edition of Panorama will take place at 8 p.m. in the Belle Mehus Auditorium on Nov. 3 and 4. Tickets will be available beginning Oct. 16, at Eckroth Music, Lee's Hallmark at Kirkwood Mall, and from the University of Mary Department of Music for $10.
