Mission
We promote academic excellence in a Benedictine environment by offering thorough, relevant courses and programs that prepare students to function as leaders in their communities and as professionals in their chosen careers. We provide service to all University of Mary students requiring mathematics for general education or for their major, and we provide a program for students who will teach mathematics or work in careers using mathematical skills.
Philosophy
We view ourselves as part of a learning community that functions in accordance with the Benedictine values accepted by this university. We strive for active student learning involving faculty-student interaction in our courses, internships, and practica. Our curriculum is a dynamic enterprise that is regularly reviewed and revised, based on faculty, student, and outside professional assessments. We believe that students can exhibit excellence as professionals and at the same time display Benedictine values as servant-leaders.
