In existence for over 25 years, the Nursing Degree Completion Program at the University of Mary is designed for currently licensed nurses (associate degree LPN or RN) seeking a baccalaureate degree.
In recognition of the practicing nurse's competency and to help lessen scheduling conflicts, a Web-enhanced learning format is utilized to eliminate the need for students to attend daily classes. Students come to campus once for an initial orientation and again several times during the program to participate in seminars, presentations, written comprehensive exams, etc. The remainder of the program, both theory and clinical experiences, often can be fulfilled in a student's home community.
A new U-Mary Nursing Degree Completion Program class is started each fall. Students interested in applying can apply anytime prior to June 15th to be considered for acceptance into the fall class.
The Division of Nursing is in the process of developing a program track for students who have earned a certificate, LPN. Projected start date is January 2008.
