Recommended Course Sequence
Admission to the upper-level professional program is selective. Application material will be distributed the semester the student is enrolled in the ATH243 course. Applications will be accepted only in the spring semester to start the professional program in the fall.
The prospective student must have successfully completed the following courses with a grade of B or better to be admitted into the professional program: ATH 151, 238, 243, 244, 314 and PED 157: successfully completed the following courses with a grade of C or better: BIO 103, 207, 208, NUR 206 and PED 159, 360: have a minimum culmulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for required course work (including transfer courses) and maintain First Aid and Emergency Cardiac Care Certification.

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training are encouraged to complete an additional major and/or minor to enhance vocational placement in early entry settings. Suggested degree programs at the University of Mary:

- Biology
- Business Communications
- Chemistry
- Exercise Science
- Physical Education
- Minor
- Health Care Administration
- Psychology
- Graduate Degrees
- Occupational Therapy (MS)
- Physical Therapy (DPT)
Those students with a comprehensive strong science background are encouraged to take the prerequisite courses leading to admission to physical therapy or medical schools.
