My most significant years of teaching have been at the University of Mary where I continue to work with students in two areas: communications and art. I advise the student paper, “The Summit,” and I also bring art work and other educational displays to the University’s galleries. I enjoy any opportunity to work collaboratively with other professors and students in ways that improve our understanding of how liberal arts and professional courses work together to make for a complete education.
Community and Professional Interests
I have a real curiosity about many topics I do not teach, and never have enough time for all the creative endeavors I would like to undertake. One of my keenest interests is how we can continue to make the Benedictine heritage and values of the University of Mary more understandable to our students. I’m working on a project about this right now.
In the recent past I was a member of the Bismarck Tribune Community Editorial Board and I have judged area middle and high school art exhibits.
On Servant Leadership . . .
Servant leadership are just words unless we can look around ourselves and see where we can lead, not by words, but by promoting justice with generosity and care.
