| Prior to arriving at the University of Mary, I served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1973 on board the USS Ticonderoga and taught math at Cavalier, ND (1977-1978) and Jamestown, ND (1978-1984). I currently teach World Civilization I and II, North Dakota History, Introduction to Geography, Regional Geography, and Military History.

Presentations and Awards
- In September 1999, I won the first prize [Holy Terror Award] at the West River History Conference in South Dakota with a presentation on Alfred Knutson, a Communist Party member in North Dakota.
- In September 2000, I was a presenter here on Frank Brandt, a pro-Nazi newspaper editor in North Dakota.
- Presenter for in-service training for Bismarck and Mandan public school faculty on the history of terrorism.
- Presenter to the AAUW on the life of Cleopatra.
- Presenter to the Center for Western Studies at Augustana College in Sioux Falls,SD, on the topic of Alfred Knutson.
- Presenter to the University of Mary International Club on the subject of the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
- Presenter to the student body of Century High School on the topic of the War in Iraq.
- Presenter for the 2003 Lawn Party at the Former Governor’s Mansion on the topic of the 1918 Influenza Epidemic.
- From 1998-2002, I was a presenter to the sixth-grade class of teacher Nancy Hopfauf of Cathedral Grade School in Bismarck on the subject of ancient Egypt.
- I have been interviewed by the local media on a wide variety of state and international topics of interest such as the war on terrorism and the disputed presidential election of 2000.
