| I have been a faculty member in the Occupational Therapy Department at the University of Mary for nine years and currently serve as the OT department's admissions chair. I teach courses related to neuroscience, research, adults, and geriatric populations. I am very interested in problem-based learning, and have included PBL in OT classes. My current research is on University of Mary faculty’s service experiences in Guatemala. I was recently certified in Montessori Based Dementia Programming and am excited about sharing this new learning with students and the community.
My prior experience includes working for 12 years as an occupational therapist in a rehabilitation setting with adults and elderly populations with various neurological and physical diagnoses. I also have experience in long-term care and worked in a supervisory position for four years in occupational therapy.

On Servant Leadership . . .
Servant-leadership is an important part of the University of Mary’s mission and vision. Students are encouraged to participate in leadership activities throughout their education at the university. Occupational therapy offers an excellent example of servant-leadership through the Community Partners in Service Project, which incorporates both service and leadership. Faculty have an opportunity to foster servant-leadership in students through a commitment to life-long learning, scholarship, respect for others, and service.
