Welcome to the Division of Philosophy and Theology at the University of Mary, America’s Leadership University.
Within the liberal arts, our division provides courses which challenge learners in issues of values, faith, and effective thinking. These courses lay the groundwork for lifelong spiritual enrichment as well as professional competence.
Philosophy and theology courses form part of the core graduation requirements for all students at this Christian, Catholic, Benedictine school. Besides being a resource for personal and spiritual growth, they help students develop a vision of leadership with Jesus the Servant as model.
The division offers two major programs of study: pastoral ministry and theology. The first prepares practitioners to minister to others within a faith community; the latter prepares students for future graduate work. The two programs complement each other; some students elect to pursue both majors simultaneously.
The division also offers six minors: religious education, pastoral ministry, theology, philosophy, liturgy, and a philosophy-theology combination. Students in majors outside our division often choose one of our minors because of an interest in the area and as a way to acquire a Bachelor of Arts degree.
For more information, please review our Web page and feel free to contact me or any of the professors in the division.
