Enrollment Verification Process

For Employers and Background Screening Firms:

The University of Mary has teamed with the National Student Clearinghouse to provide a quicker and more efficient way to provide enrollment verifications. Clearinghouse receives data from the University of Mary and, in compliance with FERPA, dispenses the information electronically to requesting lending institutions, prospective employers, background investigation firms, and credit granting agencies. This service provides convenient access 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The University of Mary has teamed with the National Student Clearinghouse to provide students with a quicker, more convenient way to print copies of enrollment verification forms as well as lender and loan information. This free service provides convenient access 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Currently, there is a $2.50 charge per verification through the National Student Clearinghouse. The University of Mary Office of the Registrar will continue to offer enrollment verifications free of charge.

The following information is considered public and may be verified without the student authorization (unless the student has restricted the release of this information):

• Student’s name
• Address (campus-email, local, and/or permanent), and telephone numbers
• Date and place of birth
• Major fields of study, number of course credits in which enrolled, degrees and honors received
• Dates of attendance
• Class level
• Enrollment Status (e.g., undergraduate or graduate, full-time or part-time)
