1. When should I apply for admission?
Applications are already being accepted for the 2008-2009 academic year! Apply Now!

2. When should I visit campus?
Every day is an "open house" at U-Mary! Come spend a day at U-Mary, and you'll have a chance to meet with a professor, sit in on class, eat in the cafeteria, attend chapel services, talk to current students, take a campus tour, and meet with an admissions representative. Campus visits can be scheduled to begin from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.

The Office of Admissions is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please call the Office of Admissions five to seven days in advance to arrange a visit, or complete the visit request form.

3. What are the requirements for undergraduate admission at the University of Mary?
Every applicant to the University of Mary is reviewed on an individual basis.
Recommended criteria for admission are as follows:

  • Composite ACT of 19 or SAT equivalent
  • Upper 50 percent of graduating class
  • High school cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Positive recommendation
  • Personal achievements

Students who do not meet admission criteria may be accepted provisionally upon recommendation of the Academic Standards and Admissions Committee. No applicant is refused admission to the university on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, or disability.

4. What are the application requirements for transfer students?
Students interested in transferring to U-Mary from another college or university should submit the following:

  • A completed application for admission and $25 non-refundable application fee
  • A high school transcript (if fewer than 60 semester/90 quarter transferable college credits)
  • Official transcript(s) of all previous college work
  • Minimum grade point average of 2.00 (4.00 scale)

5. When will a student be notified if he/she is admitted to U-Mary?
Before an admission decision can be made, a student's file must be complete. To be complete, it must contain an application for admission, official high school and/or college transcripts, ACT or SAT test scores, and a $25 application fee. Once the file is complete, the student will be notified of the admission decision in one to two weeks.

6. How much will it cost to attend the University of Mary?

7. What scholarships are available?
Several million dollars in scholarships and institutional aid are awarded annually. Please click here to see scholarships you may be eligible for!

8. What types of placement and proficiency exams do you offer/ accept?
Students can earn advanced credit by taking the following courses and examinations: The College Level Examination Program (CLEP), The Advanced Placement Program (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB).

9. When do classes start?
The academic year generally starts late August and ends early May.

10. What is the "Finish in Four Guarantee"?
U-Mary guarantees that, following simple guidelines, first-year freshmen can graduate in four years with a declared major. If you don't graduate in four years, your fifth year is free.
It's just that simple.
