Residence Directors

Residence directors or "RD's" are professional staff members who live in the residence halls to provide overall direction and supervision for the residence life program in their hall. When a student living in the residence halls has a question or concern, he or she should contact the RD for assistance. Contact information and a biography of each RD appears below:

Residence Director: Anne Marie Werthmann
awerthmann@umary.edu
(701) 355-7039

Anne Marie Werthmann has been the residence director in Boniface Hall (including Boniface "Riverview") since first arriving at the university in August of 2005. From 2005 to 2007, she also served as the coordinator of the student activities committee. In 2007, she took on a new assignment, coordinating the university's special activities program. She also assists the director of student life with student conduct.

Werthmann earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Wells College, a women's college in New York. She has also completed a year of graduate study, majoring in counseling psychology. Growing up as a "military brat," Werthmann moved around a lot. She enjoys reading, scrapbooking, traveling, and hanging out with friends. She also loves watching movies and has a large collection of them.

"I love how much the students I work with grow and change from year to year. It is neat to see how much more confident and sure of themselves and their choices they become," she says. "Every day is different; so there is always something new for them and me to learn from each other."
