1. What is the MCard?
The Mcard is the University of Mary's official photo identification card and you are required to carry it with you while on campus and while at university-sponsored activities. It has your name, your picture, and a magnetically encoded stripe that contains your identification number. The Mcard is good for the entire period you are affiliated with the University of Mary. Upon graduation, withdrawal or termination, you are required to return the Mcard to the Student Development Office or the Mcard office at the University of Mary. 2. Does the University of Mary have a bookstore on campus?
Yes, the university bookstore is located in the lower level of the Harold J. Miller Center. See the campus map.

3. Are students required to live on campus their freshman year?Learn more about residence halls at U-Mary.

4. Should each student have his or her own computer?
Learn more about technology services available for students. 

5. Are medical services provided on campus?
Yes, the University of Mary has a Student Health Clinic campus.

6. If I must leave the university before the end of a semester what should I do?
Begin by notifying your advisor; then, see the Student Development Office for an exit interview. Contact the director of student financial aid, director of student accounts and the Registrar's Office to make necessary arrangements, settle outstanding bills, or receive refunds to which you may be entitled. The refund procedure is explained in the University of Mary Bulletin. If applicable, check out with the residence director.

7. If a security problem arises, whom do I contact?
For an emergency call 911. During office hours, call the director of physical plant at 355-8123. Evenings. call the security guard on duty at 471-6070 or your resident director.

8. If something needs repair in the residence halls or apartments what do I do?
A. If it is an emergency situation, report it immediately to the residence director, resident assistant or contact Mark Stephens, director of the physical plant at extension 8123. Examples of emergencies include situation such as those where the safety of residents is endangered or damage to the building or furnishings is a concern due to water leaks, or loss of power or heat.

B. Non-emergency situations (such as light bulbs, a broken washer or dryer, loss of cable TV, etc.), should be reported via e-mail to maintenance@umary.edu. All e-mail reports will be processed during regular operating hours and students will receive notification via e-mail when the request is completed, or if there will be a delay in completing the request.

9. Does the University of Mary switchboard divulge information concerning home addresses and phone numbers?
The switchboard routinely releases the phone numbers of students. In emergencies, home addresses and phone numbers will be divulged to the extent provided for by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

10. How can I get involved in student or university government?
Contact the student body president or any member of the Student Senate, the director of student life or your advisor.

11. Where can I find a schedule for cafeteria, snack bar, and library hours?
These schedules are posted at north switchboard and listed on the inside covers of the Student Handbook. Changes in schedules are posted and/or published in University Bulletins.

12. How can I find out what events are taking place on campus or downtown?
A semester-long calendar listing all campus activities and some community events is published and made available at registration. Announcements are posted on campus. The university's bi-weekly Bulletin is available at locations throughout the campus and other university facilities, including North Campus Switchboard, the Snack Bar, Welder Library, and the Butler Center for Lifelong Learning.
