Virus Alert
Productivity-killing viruses at the University of Mary are disrupting the campus network from infected computers in our residence halls.
How healthy is your computer? There are 67,000 known computer viruses, and more than 300 new ones are discovered every month. Without antivirus software, chances are good that your computer may be infected.
Computer Services recognizes the immediate threat to the University of Mary is through Windows 2000, XP and Vista. We will be providing Sophos Antivirus installs for residence hall students with other supportable operating systems in the future.
The link below is provided to help us provide the best possible network/Internet access and to stop viruses from exploiting security holes in Windows and Internet Explorer. This link is available ONLY inside the university network. It will NOT work until your computer is correctly connected to the university Internet system.

Once your computer is correctly connected to the university network, please follow the directions from the link above.
The Sophos Antivirus install instructions require Adobe Acrobat Reader for proper viewing. If you do not have Acrobat Reader, you may download it for free.
The University of Mary will support Sophos Antivirus installs only as long as the vendor (Sophos or operating system) supports the operating system and through the school year of the vendor's discontinuance of support.
If a residence hall student does not follow these steps or lets his or her other antivirus expire, the student will be disconnected from the network until he or she complies. The student will have to contact his or her RD to fix the issue. When this process is completed, the RD will contact Computer Services with a request for reinstatement.
