About Me

I love helping students learn and grow as people, as servant leaders and as professionals. Each person has something to give, something to share. It is a joy to collaborate with our many God-given gifts and talents. As a faculty member, I teach communication courses at the University of Mary. I have taught communication classes at the University of North Dakota and Lake Region State College. Most recently, I taught in the Public Affairs Leadership Department at the Defense Information School at Fort George Meade, Maryland. Serving as a Public Affairs Officer in the United States Air Force led me to meet many interesting people, brought me to many interesting locations around the world, and taught me many interesting cultures. Having retired from 10 years active duty and 10 years in the reserves, I am excited about new adventures at the University of Mary.

Why I’m At Mary

University of Mary is a place where faith and reason guide our universal human search for truth, beauty, and goodness. It is thrilling to work in an environment where each person is valued and respected, made in the image and likeness of God. I love to learn, and I love to help others learn. With its timeless Benedictine values, Mary develops the whole-person concept. It's nothing less than incredible!
