About Me

I serve as an assistant professor and field director in the social work department, where I will be teaching a wide range of social work courses and working with junior and senior students with their field placements. Additionally, I will be advising many students in the program. In my free time, I love being with my family, whether we are watching a sporting event, being at the lake, or just spending time together. I have a lot of fun cooking, trying new recipes, and being in the mountains, where I can hike and enjoy the views.

Why I’m At Mary

I feel blessed to work at a university that truly believes in the value of social workers. I’m honored to teach about a field I love to students who want to do service in the world. The University's Benedictine values resonate so deeply with my own, making working in this environment special and unique.

Expertise

I have over 20 years of work experience, including work in school social work, child welfare agencies, human service zones, and mental health facilities. My higher education experiences include being an Adjunct Professor at the University of Mary and NDSU. My passions are children’s mental health, trauma, and crisis intervention.

I have a lot of interest in research and have served on many projects, publishing my own research project in the Journal of Child Abuse and Neglect. Other presentations and trainings I have conducted include crisis intervention, trauma, suicide prevention and protocols, children's mental health, and working with diverse populations.
