Teresa Bren, RN, DNP
About Me
I will primarily facilitate courses within the RN to BSN program and provide support to nursing faculty across various undergraduate nursing programs. My focus is on fostering a supportive environment that promotes community and strengthens relationships with students, which I believe is crucial for their success. What I most appreciate about the University of Mary is the opportunity to integrate my passion for nursing education with my Catholic faith.
Why I’m At MaryI have experience working with several secular organizations that uphold commendable missions emphasizing respect, integrity, humility, and warmth. What distinguishes UMary is its integration of Catholic faith into its mission, coupled with the Benedictine values, charisms, and servant leadership. The University’s commitment to embodying a fully Christian, joyfully Catholic, and gratefully Benedictine identity is why I am drawn to Mary.
Expertise
I bring clinical experience in long-term care, sub-acute care, acute cardiac care, surgical services, and pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation. In my nurse educator role, I have experience facilitating courses including fundamentals, nutrition, psychiatric/mental health nursing, and first-year experience. Additionally, I served as an advisor to the NSA and led the nursing evaluation committee, with an emphasis on accreditation and standards.
