Public Invited to University of Mary Music-Faculty Recital Concert
BISMARCK, ND — It’s not every day the public has an opportunity to listen to some of the region’s top musicians—and the University of Mary has artists for everyone’s entertainment pleasure. On Sunday, September 15, at 3 p.m., in R. M. Heskett Hall, Clairmont Center for Performing Arts on campus, the public will be treated to a free concert featuring University of Mary’s talented music faculty.
“Our music faculty are renowned performers and teachers,” said Dr. Tom Porter, professor of music and chair of the Department of Music at the University of Mary. “The recital provides an opportunity for our students and the general public to enjoy wonderfully artistic performances in a wide variety of styles and musical genres.”
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will include performances by Dennis Gowen, trumpet, Lucas Bernier, marimba and drum set, Brian Lydeen, saxophone, Youna Hartgraves, voice, Daniel Hinman, trombone, Everaldo Martinez, violin, Natalia, Vacarciuc, cello, Michael Langer, piano, Darren King, bass, Joan Backes, piano and an Orff ensemble directed by Nicole Bernier.
The program features a wide variety of music, including selections by Puccini, Tomasi, Beethoven, Akiho, and Golson.
