In addition to the MBA, Mary’s Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) is the only US program listed by the Cardinal Newman Society, showcasing the university’s most comprehensive and unparalleled Catholic offerings

BISMARCK, ND — The Cardinal Newman Society’s Newman Guide publication, the authority and gold standard for anything and everything related to the practice of authentic Catholic education, now gives their stamp of approval to University of Mary’s vast graduate programs. The private, Catholic university in Bismarck, ND, is already one of only a handful of colleges and universities in the U.S. and abroad recommended by The Newman Guide for its nearly 60 accredited undergraduate programs. The University of Mary is now one of only a select few accredited graduate schools in the United States listed by the Cardinal Newman Society, and the only one with a comprehensive selection of Catholic programs.

Headlining this prestigious list for all faithful Catholics is Mary’s popular, customizable, Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Also, the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is the only doctorate program in the United States listed among all Cardinal Newman recommended universities and colleges. Now, with The Newman Guide expanding to recognize graduate level programs, the University of Mary’s MBA, DBA, MOL, MBA/MA in Philosophy, Master of Arts in Catholic Studies, Master of Arts in Music, Master of Arts in Applied Catholic Theology, and Master of Science in Bioethics, along with seven certificates, are officially endorsed by the Catholic organization.

“In a culture intentionally and vigorously opposed to the Christian life and Church teaching, it’s a great honor and encouragement to be recognized for our commitment to authentic Catholic education, not only at the undergraduate level, but now also in our extensive graduate programs,” remarked University of Mary President, Monsignor James Shea. “The Cardinal Newman Society offers a tremendous service to the Church by carefully and tenaciously reviewing Catholic higher education. Now, their venture into the graduate realm means that students, families, and working professionals can trust our world-class programs from the bachelor’s to the doctoral level – assured that the same faculty who are experts in their field are also steeped in Church teaching and the Catholic intellectual tradition. No matter how societal shifts pressure institutions like ours, our adherence to the Truth will always stay the same — because faithfulness to the Gospel and to the Church is not an obstacle to education, but the very essence of its transformative power.”

Pursuing an MBA at the University of Mary is more than just a career choice, or about a business’ bottom line. Not only are graduates of Mary’s MBA excelling in finance, accounting, management, marketing, research, and communications, but most importantly, they are equipped with the values of True Leadership: the confidence of an executive, the insight of a specialist, and the integrity to be a champion for Truth, Beauty and Goodness. That means MBA degree holders from Mary are men and women of courage and conviction who know themselves, their purpose, and their mission. This degree is customized to each individual student’s needs and their busy lifestyle: flexible to be earned online in as little as one year, affordable with scholarships available up to $10,000, and achievable with unequalled faculty support from the time of admission onward.

Like all of Mary’s graduate programs, its unmatched DBA program is efficient, manageable, and designed for busy working professionals who desire to drink deeply from the Catholic tradition while growing in their vocation. The three-year program forms business leaders to be a cut above the rest for ethical decision-making, integrity, insight, and ingenuity so they can craft strategies and initiatives, and see them through to success.

“The organization’s Newman Guide, led by founder Patrick Reilly, helps Catholic parents and students find faithfully Catholic education, and it recognizes model institutions that refuse to compromise their Catholic mission,” stated a Cardinal Newman Society press release.

Kelly Salomon, vice president of Newman Guide programs at the Cardinal Newman Society stated, “Based on our review of the information provided, your programs and certificates model the requirements of Ex corde Ecclesiae, and your policies align with the policy standards the Cardinal Newman Society promotes. In addition, you have provided evidence of a strong commitment to Catholic identity throughout the coursework of these programs. Congratulations on a job well done. We are proud to welcome these programs to The Newman Guide.”

According to The Cardinal Newman Society website, recognizing programs at the graduate level is in response to an ever-pressing need from families for guidance in choosing a Catholic graduate program. Also, total student enrollment in U.S. graduate programs has doubled in the last 20 years.

“By extending the Newman Guide into graduate programs, we are providing Catholic students with a pathway to a seamless, faithful, Catholic education. In the right graduate program, students can pursue an advanced education while being immersed in a truly Catholic environment. This is great news for Catholic families and for the future of the Church,” added Salomon.

The Newman Guide has earned a trusted reputation for rigorously vetting Catholic colleges, ensuring they have strong policies and standards that uphold Catholic identity from academics and athletics to faculty hiring and campus life. This has resonated with Catholic families, as more than 75,000 families refer to the Newman Guide online every year to help find a faithful Catholic college or university.
